Wedding Florals

Weddings

One of my favorite details of every wedding is seeing the beautiful floral arrangements because I just love flowers so much! They’re happy, fun, and really bring something extra special to your day. No matter how big or small your wedding is, florals are still part of it. Having a florist who understands your vision and ideas is really important because your florals will be in a lot of your photos, especially with details and portraits.

I’ve worked with Danielle from Save the Date Florida many times so I enjoyed getting to talk to her more about wedding florals. Danielle has been working as a wedding florist for over 20 years! She started out doing friend’s weddings and then she started her own business after college. She’s a preferred vendor at many beach venues since she gets a lot of destination brides that love what she offers. She’s been featured on Borrowed & Blue and Wedding Chicks. She does a lot of the delivering and set up herself, but she also has another full time employee and 2 others on reserve if needed. Along with her beautiful floral arrangements, Danielle also offers rentals including lanterns, candles, arches, vases, minimal pipe and drape, and a boxwood backdrop.

She shared some great tips for brides when looking for a florist or deciding on wedding florals:

  • Look at the reviews and recommendations of each florist – the more, the better! Danielle recommends picking a florist that has over 50 reviews.

  • Go to their website and view their portfolio to see their style and make sure they can make your vision come to life.

  • Reach out to some florists after you have your venue booked and know your theme and colors so they can see your style.

  • If you’re not sure what your floral budget is, Danielle shared that most of the time it’s around 11% of your total budget so that helps you consider how much you have to put towards it.

  • Create a Pinterest board or have some inspiration photos to show your florist.

    • If you’re not sure what you want, Danielle can create a vision board for you based on your colors, theme, and flowers that fit your budget.

  • Ask your florist for suggestions based on your budget and what type of flowers will look good together.

    • Hydrangeas are about the only flower that doesn’t do well in Florida in the summer, but most of the time Danielle can get any flowers that you would like.

  • Find out what arrangements and additional services your florist offers.

    • Danielle creates bouquets, boutonnières, arch flowers, altar arrangements, table florals, and more!

With Covid-19 changing a lot of plans and regulations, Danielle can do any type of consultation to go over your floral ideas and plans including in person meetings, FaceTime or Skype calls, or over the phone. She also makes it very easy to reserve her for your wedding even with the tough financial times. She doesn’t require a deposit until 90 days before your wedding and if you have to reschedule, your deposit will transfer to your future date.
